There’s a general misconception that you need to have some kind of a super computer to be able to play 3D poker.

This page is designed to put those kind of misconceptions to bed. The truth is that you don’t have to some mega expensive computer to be able to experience a 3D poker room … if you did, then it’s highly unlikely that the 3D revolution would have come as far as it has in such a short space of time.

Will 3D Poker work on my computer?

As a rough rule of thumb, if you’ve got a computer that’s been built in the last five or ten years, then the chances are that you’ll have more than enough processing power to be able to give 3D poker a shot. The only problem that owners of older computers might run into is that their hard drive isn’t big enough to install the 3D software on.

As with all things though, there’s a solution to that. So if you run into that problem, then keep reading … we’ll get you playing 3D poker yet!

As a rough guide, we have compiled the following lists to give Mac and PC owners an idea of the sort of technical specifications required to install and play 3D poker software.

Recommended PC Requirements

  • 1 GHz Pentium Processor or better
  • 512 MB of Ram or greater
  • 850 MB of hard drive space
  • Graphics card with 32 MB of Ram and DirectX 9.0c Compatibility
  • Any sound card
  • Windows 2000 SP3 or better, Windows XP SP1 or better, or Windows Vista
  • Broadband Internet Connection

Recommended Mac Requirements

  • Any Intel processor (not PowerPC)
  • 1024 MB RAM
  • Approx 1.5 GB hard drive space
  • A graphics card with at least 32mb of RAM. (Preferable not the intel gma 950 card )
  • Leopard (Mac OS X v10.5.7) or Snow Leopard (Mac OS X v10.6)
  • Safari 4, Firefox 3 or similar browser
  • Broadband Internet Connection

What if my computer isn’t good enough?

If your PC doesn’t match the specifications listed above, then don’t panic. Your options regarding where to play will be slightly limited, but the good news is that you can still get involved in the 3D Poker revolution!
