3D Poker Rooms

We have to be honest with – there aren’t an awful lot of 3D poker rooms around at the moment.

The good news though is that that seems to be changing as more and more rooms realise the potential of 3D software and the advantages that it gives them in a very competitive market.

When 3D poker was first launched, it was seen as a slightly gimmicky way to draw players to poker rooms that weren’t particularly good. Today though, we have some house hold names like 888 and Ladbrokes running high quality poker rooms on 3D software with more big names looking to upgrade their software in the near future.

Below is a list of online poker rooms that currently offer 3D poker. This list will be added to as more 3D rooms become available:

What is a 3D poker room?

If you’ve played a fair bit of online poker, the chances are that you’ve become quite familiar with the standard birds eye camera view which looks down upon the table from a height. The view doesn’t change, and with the exception of the cards being dealt, not a whole lot moves apart from players leaving or joining the table.

3D poker is very different to this. For starters, everything is much more animated. Players actually look like real people and react to the action on the table. As a player, you can design your own avatar and have him/her carry out a number of actions while you’re sitting at the table.

When it comes to how you view the game, 3D poker is a lot more flexible. Rather than being forced into the standard birds eye view, 3D poker generally offers a wide range of angles to watch the game from and includes sweeping panaromic shots of the table.

If you haven’t experienced 3D poker, it can be very difficult to explain how different it is from the standard games you’ve played at the likes of Pokerstars and Full Tilt.

To get a better idea of how different 3D poker is, we would suggest checking our article on the Benefits of 3D poker, or alternatively sign up to one of the rooms listed above and check out the action using play money … it won’t cost you anything!
